Michael LaJoice, owner of Chasse Ballroom & Latin Dance Studio in Fenton, has officially been charge with 14 counts of embezzlement worth $20 Million.

LaJoice also holds the position of Chief Financial Officer for the Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union in Oakland County.

He was charged Friday afternoon with taking $20 million from the credit union between 2003 and the end of 2015. According to court documents, LaJoice was allegedly skimming $100,000 at a time.

He is facing 14 counts of embezzlement, with each count carrying a 20 year maximum penalty.

The website for Chasse Ballroom states only that the business is closed until further notice, and their Facebook page has also been disabled.

LaJoice is also behind the $31 Million development in Fenton, and many people are speculating about the future of that project.

LaJoice is being represented by Flint attorney, Michael Manley, who has declined any comment about the case.
