The founder of the museum wants to find a permanent home for it, which could end up being here...or close to.

LaMont Robinson is the founder of the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame, and he's on a mission to find a permanent home for it. He's proposed a $25 million museum, and he's pitching it to several cities in Michigan including Bay City, Flint and Detroit.

Robinson has been operating the hall out of his office in Detroit since 2014. He's got a lot of memorabilia, but nowhere to showcase it. He's hoping to have an attraction similar to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

As far as location, he thinks that it would put Bay City "on the map." It's the birthplace of Madonna and, Robinson says, sits in a "strategic area" for the state of Michigan.

Of course we're biased, but we think that Flint would be a GREAT spot for it, no?
