Hundreds of students at Flint's Durant-Turri-Mott Elementary school walked away with new shoes last Friday.

The massive shoe donation was made by The Andrew Clayton Foundation. The foundation is in memory of Andrew Clayton Berg, originally from Waterford. Berg served in the military and worked a lot in Flint before unexpectedly passing away in 2017.

The Foundation has partnered with Warrior Dogs and Troops Need Love Too in the past. Their work with kids shoes stems from Andrew's love of shoes. This has lead to a community outreach program that helps to make sure kids have shoes they love.

The event in Flint was extremely well received by both parents and kids alike as shown in this Facebook post that a parent put on the foundation Facebook page.

In the end nearly 300 students received a pair of shoes that they love. We salute the Andrew Clayton Foundation, and in the future if there is anything that we can do to help the mission, please let us know.
