Flint Will Start 2022 Off With A Blanket of Fresh Snow
A major snowstorm is tracking towards Genesee County and it could drop as much as six inches on New Years Day.
This has been a pretty mild winter so far in Flint and surrounding areas, but that could change this weekend. Weather forecasters have predicted that a big snowstorm is making its way towards lower Michigan. The snowstorm could change between now and Saturday, but predictions right now have the snow starting in the early afternoon on New Years Day.
Now we find ourselves in a very familiar position, waiting to see if the storm lives up to the hype. Preparing for huge winter storms, only to end up with one or two inches has become one of Michigan's favorite pastimes.
Mid Michigan Now Meteorologist, Ahmad Bajjey has the undesirable job of trying to predict what this storm is going to do on Saturday.
So it sounds like the one thing that we know for sure is that a snowstorm is coming, and we will get some sort of action.
How Much Snow Could Flint Get If The Storm Is Really Bad?
Pretty much every weather forecast I've looked at has the max amount of snowfall at about 6 inches. That might not seem like a ton of snow, but it would easily be the biggest storm we've had this year. It's also important to note that all of that snow would be falling in less than 24 hours.
So it's probably time to make sure your snowblower is going to start up if you have not already. If you don't have a snowblower, then it's time to get stretching so you don't hurt yourself shoveling.
Oh yea, it's also possible that we talk about the storm right up until Saturday, and end up with an inch or two on the ground. Welcome to Michigan!
