Flint's Claressa Shields will step into the Olympic boxing ring this morning in London as she starts her bid for a gold medal.

17 year old Claressa will take on 32 year old Anna Laurell of Sweden in her first Olympic boxing match.

Both women lost to Savannah Marshall at the world championships, but they both also beat defending world champ Mary Spencer.

Shields is younger and smaller than Laurell but is projected as a slight favorite to win her fight this morning.

Flint will be watching today as one of our own gets started, and many viewing parties are planned throughout the area.

The fight starts at 10:45am this morning and will be streamed online.

Club 93.7, Flint and the entire nation is rooting for you Claressa!
