George Zimmerman Threatens to Beat Jay-Z Over Trayvon Martin Documentary
George Zimmerman is back in the national consciousness, and as is usually the case, nothing good has come of it. This time, the Florida man who was acquitted for the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin four years ago has come with threats. Now he's taking aim at JAY-Z, who earlier this year revealed he was teaming with The Weinstein Company to produce a Martin-focused docuseries.
Speaking with The Blast, Zimmerman claimed that producer Michael Gasparro made unannounced visits to the homes of his uncles and parents in Florida in an attempt to discuss the forthcoming six-part docuseries, Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story. Zimmerman says they tried to get his family in front of the camera for the series, though he doesn't specify whether or not his parents were interested in doing so.
Zimmerman is apparently upset that his ex-wife has reportedly been paid to be in the documentary. He notes that producers refused to pay his family any money to be in the series.
In an especially disturbing bit, Zimmerman told the site, “I know how to handle people who fuck with me, I have since February 2012," seemingly alluding to his shooting and killing Martin back in February 2012.
As for the JAY-Z threats, Zimmerman claims to hold Hov and Gasparro responsible for the "harassment" of his family, and says that “anyone who fucks with my parents will be fed to an alligator.”
JAY-Z has yet to speak on Zimmerman's comments.
