The GM Foundation announced $60,000 in grants for 10 Flint-area organizations on Monday. According to a news release, it's the sixth consecutive year that the GM Foundation has issued Plant City Grants in the Flint area, bringing the Foundation's funding in support of the community to nearly $2 million during that period.

The organizations sharing in the grants were the Flint River Watershed Coalition, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint, Priority Children, Shelter of Flint, Junior Achievement, YWCA, Sloan Longway, Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, and Wounded Warriors.

The GM Foundation event took place at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan's new Hunger Solution Center in Flint. Representatives from the 10 agencies that received the funds then helped pack food that will be distributed to seniors and children.
