It used to be one of the best kept secrets in Grand Blanc. Now, people come from all over Genesee County just to see the magic of one particular house.

The Rickard Family has been lighting up the holiday season in Grand Blanc for the past four years. What started out as just traditional holiday decorating, has become a family favorite for the community.

Cars filled with families drive past the Rickard home, located in the Indian Hill subdivision off S. Saginaw Street, to take in the wonder of both the Halloween and Christmas seasons.( Yes they do it up big again for Christmas too).

The big show is again back this year to entertain fans and provide help for those need. Again this year the Rickard will be partnering with FISH of Grand Blanc and collecting donations of non perishable food items (especially food that can easily be prepared by a teen), personal hygiene products or toilet paper. The will have a bin outside for easy drop-off.

Kevin Rickard enjoys giving back and bringing some smiles to the faces of the community. The family puts a month into getting the display ready to go, but to Rickard says worth it. "We do it because of all the joy it brings to the community and the awareness for FISH is an added bonus for us".

With so much uncertainty surrounding pretty much everything we do, the annual light show provides something special for families to enjoy together with some sort of normalcy. "I think this year we need it. We need something to take our minds off everything else that’s currently going on", Keven Rickard said. "For those 15-20 minutes or so no one is worried about anything, everyone is sharing in the same fun experience dancing and singing along to all the songs".

The show will run on a continuous loop from 7:30-10 every night this month. You can drive-up and tune your radio to 87.9 to listen. A video display has been added this year  along with 2500 additional lights. The Rickard show is located at 11216 Stonybrook Drive in Grand Blanc.
