It was a sad holiday weekend in Michigan as multiple drownings were reported throughout the state including a 6-year-old Detroit girl at Martindale Beach in Kensington Metropark.

At first, the little girl had been reported missing along with multiple other children. All were eventually found aside from the little girl.

On the speaker they kept announcing how one kid after another went missing and everyone had been found except a 6-year-old girl. They were walking in walls through the water. The whole beach came together. We all came together as one looking for her.

According to Fox 2 Detroit, when police couldn't find the girl on the beach, they started checking the water.

Everyone came together to look for the little girl and a one point, they even formed a human chain so they could spread out ever further into water. After searching for about an hour they found her.

Beachgoer, Dominque Springer:

They were telling us the kid was missing for about an hour. We all locked arms in the water searching for this kid. Me, I’m about to be a father and I used to be a lifeguard, and we searched and found her.

She was found unresponsive in the water and according to reports, died at a nearby hospital.

There were so many people at the beach as you can see in the video below. Apparently, they weren't even allowing more people to come in as they were at capacity.

I noticed a lot of people on social media pointing fingers and calling out who they believe is to blame for what happened. It's easy to judge and point fingers if you weren't there. Even if you were there, I don't think it's ever appropriate to call out someone on social media following the death of a child. It's best to say nothing at all, aside for your condolences.
