Cancun Mexican Restaurant in Clio Permanently Closes

In case you missed it, Cancun Mexican Restaurant officially closed for business yesterday, Sunday, August 2nd, 2026.

Cancun Mexican Restaurant opened in March 2025 at 6468 West Vienna Road in Clio. The restaurant moved into the building that was previously home to Joe's Garage.

The restaurant announced the closing via social media on Saturday, August 1st. The surprising post included the following,

We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who chose to dine with us, celebrate with us, and support our restaurant. Every visit, every meal shared, and every smile made this journey truly special. We are incredibly thankful to have been part of this wonderful community.

As you can imagine, this was not an easy decision to make.

Many people shared fond memories and heartfelt comments about Cancun in Clio following the news. From the delicious food and generous portions to the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere, it is clear that the restaurant held a special place in the hearts of many.

Although it is always a bummer to see a business close, you still have the option of dining at three other Cancun Mexican Restaurant locations.

• Jalisco 3, located at 1375 East Michigan Avenue in Saline
