Genesee County Woman Injured in Delivery Driver Gun Incident

The Metro Police Authority of Genesee County is investigating after a Genesee County woman was shot yesterday in Mundy Township by a delivery driver.

According to ABC 12, the incident happened around 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 29th, 2026.

Reports indicate the unidentified woman was outside when a delivery driver pulled up to her home. As the driver reached for a package, the gun went off, and the bullet ricocheted before hitting the woman in the arm.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment following the shooting. Thankfully, she is said to be in good condition.

The driver is from Wayne County, and it is not known at this time if he was carrying the gun legally or illegally. Information as to which company he was delivering for has not been released.

I cannot imagine how scary and unexpected this must have been for the woman who was injured. Being outside your own home and suddenly finding yourself caught in something like this is terrifying. I am wishing her the best and hope she is doing okay.
