Opening Soon – Countdown to Fenton’s New Kroger Store

Genesee County is about to welcome its newest Kroger store, which will officially open its doors soon.

The highly anticipated store is set to open in Fenton at the Fenton Village Marketplace on Silver Lake Parkway, in the space formerly occupied by Family Farm and Home.

This will be the tenth Kroger store in Genesee County. The existing locations are as follows,

• Davison (North State Street)
• Grand Blanc (South Saginaw Street)
• Burton (Bristol Road)
• Flint (Cournna Road)
• Swartz Creek (Miller Road)
• Mount Morris (North Saginaw Road)
• Flint (Richfield Road)
• Flushing (Pierson Road)
• Flint (Corunna and Dye Roads)

When is Kroger opening in Fenton?

The new Fenton Kroger location will open on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026.

Kroger will hold an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at the store on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM. The event will feature product sampling and giveaways.

According to the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, a Detroit Pistons player will attend the event. However, the player’s name has not been officially announced. We will keep you posted.

Fenton is certainly not lacking when it comes to grocery stores. From major retailers like Walmart and Target to two locations of VG’s, residents already have plenty of options. However, there is never any harm in adding another grocery store to the mix.
