Michigan Father Sues School After Ban Over Pride Flag Video
If you’ve got kids in school, this is one of those stories that’ll grab your attention real quick. It’s already got a lot of people talking.
According to Fox 2 Detroit, A father in Grosse Pointe is now banned from school property after recording a video inside his kid’s middle school classroom and posting it online. The issue? A Pride flag hanging in the room.
Why Was This Michigan Dad Banned From Grosse Pointe Schools?
In the video, the dad calls out what he’s seeing and goes pretty hard, accusing some teachers of being “groomers” and pushing an agenda. The clip started making the rounds in parent groups and on social media, and yeah…that’s when this whole thing really took off.

The school district responded by banning him from events and school property, saying the video crossed the line into harassment and intimidation. They also pushed back on the “groomer” claims.
Now, he’s suing the district over it. It’s turned into a real mess.
Can Schools Ban Parents for Speaking Out?
That’s really what this all comes down to.
His attorney says this is a straight-up First Amendment issue. The argument is that parents should be able to speak freely about what’s happening in their kids’ schools…even if people don’t like what they’re saying.
The district, on the other hand, says there’s a line between speaking out and creating something they consider intimidating or disruptive.

And just to be clear, the lawsuit isn’t about the pride flag itself. It’s about whether the school went too far by banning a parent over how he reacted to it.
Something tells me this one isn’t getting settled anytime soon.
