We've all heard of snakes on a plane, now get ready for maggots on a plane.

A woman traveling on a flight to Detroit is traumatized after experiencing something you only see in the movies.

While on a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit, a woman passenger started freaking out after maggots started falling on her from the overhead bin. Yes, maggots were literally raining down on her.

According to Fox 2 Detroit, another passenger across the aisle said that he saw at least a dozen wiggly maggots falling on the woman. He said she was just trying to fight them off.

Where Did the Maggots Come From?

Another passenger on the Delta flight had a suitcase with rotting fish in it, covered with maggots. Those maggots eventually crawled out of the suitcase and made their way out of the overhead bin, falling onto the woman below.

All of this happened an hour after take-off so the pilot decided to turn the plane around and fly back to Amsterdam.

It's unclear how someone managed to get a bag of rotting fish onto the plane in the first place, and you would think security would have noticed rotting fish covered with maggots. It's also unclear if the owner of the rotting fish suitcase was fined.

The aircraft was cleaned thoroughly after it returned to the gate and travelers who were delayed overnight were compensated.

I don't understand how someone brings fish onto a plane that is rotting with maggots. How do you not know that it's there?  I have so many questions.
