According to American Veterinary Medical, seven people infected with the strain of Salmonella have been identified in California, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, and Hawaii.

Six cases were children 1 year old or younger. Five of these cases reported exposure to dogs and three reported feeding Victor pet food to their pets.

As of writing this article, no cases have been reported in Michigan.

What to do If You Have Any of the Recalled Pet Food Brands

If you possess any of the pet food brands recalled by Mid America Pet Food (including Victor, Eagle Mountain, Wayne Feeds, and specific Member’s Mark varieties) with a best-by date before 10/31/2024, the FDA recommends disposing of it immediately.

The Best By Date is found on the middle top of the back of each bag.
