August is getting off to a busy start for road crews across Michigan, with several new construction projects kicking off this week. Some will cause minor slowdowns, while others include lane closures, ramp closures, and detours that could add extra time to your drive.

Biggest Michigan Road Project to Watch This Week

The biggest one for us here in Mid-Michigan is the next phase of construction on I-69 in Genesee and Shiawassee counties. If this sounds familiar, it's because we told you about it late last week. The traffic shift and Miller Road ramp closures are now getting underway, but that's just one of several projects drivers could run into over the next few days.

From Genesee County to the Upper Peninsula, MDOT will be working on everything from bridge repairs and resurfacing to chip sealing and culvert replacements. Depending on where you're headed, you could run into lane shifts, overnight closures, or full detours.
