Michigan’s Adventure Amusement Park Sold in $331 Million Sale

Things might look a little different the next time you visit Michigan’s largest amusement park.

Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon, which first opened in 1956, is being sold as part of a massive $331 million deal. The sale includes several parks across North America, but the one Michiganders really care about is the one right here.

Who Bought Michigan’s Adventure Amusement Park?

According to WDIV, Six Flags announced it’s selling the park along with six others. The buyer is EPR Properties, a company that owns entertainment venues such as theaters, attractions, and amusement parks.

Before everyone starts freaking out and canceling their summer plans, it doesn’t sound like much will change, at least for now.

So What Does This Actually Mean?

Honestly, not much for visitors right now.

The new owner will technically own the property, but another company called Enchanted Parks will handle the day-to-day operations. Yeah, it's a little confusing. Think of it kind of like a landlord and a tenant situation.

Six Flags says season passes will still be honored, and the park should run pretty much like normal for the 2026 season.

Why Six Flags Is Selling It

The sale comes after Six Flags merged with Cedar Fair back in 2024, creating a massive amusement park company with parks all over the place.

When you suddenly have that many parks under one roof, it makes sense that a few of them might get sold off as the company tries to simplify things and focus on the locations that make the most money.

This could actually be great for the park. Maybe it will finally see some much-needed upgrades. I mean, I haven't been there in years, but the last time I was there, things were starting to look a little worn down.
