Michigan’s Michael Kosta Heads to Celebrity Millionaire for Charity
If you're a fan of The Daily Show like I am, here's something to get genuinely excited about. Ann Arbor's own Michael Kosta is going to be on the new season of Celebrity Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. ABC hasn't said exactly when his episode will air yet, but he'll be playing alongside actress Wendi McLendon-Covey to raise money for charity.
From Professional Tennis to The Daily Show
I've been a fan of Kosta ever since he joined The Daily Show. He's one of those guys who's just naturally funny, whether he's behind the anchor desk, out doing correspondent pieces, or on stage doing stand-up. What's even crazier is that before comedy, he was actually a professional tennis player. That's quite the career change.

I'm honestly looking forward to seeing him outside his usual element. It's one thing watching him roast politicians or deliver a perfectly timed joke. It's another to see him sweating over trivia questions with a million bucks on the line.
Michigan Has Two Celebrity Contestants This Season on 'Millionaire'
Michigan actually has another connection this season, too. Royal Oak native Paul Feig, the guy behind Bridesmaids, Spy, and Freaks and Geeks, will also compete, teaming up with Awkwafina for charity.

The season premieres tonight at 8 on ABC with Larry David and his daughter Cazzie David, plus Ben Affleck and Matt Damon trying their luck in the hot seat according to MLive.
Another Chance for Michigan to Shine on the National Stage
It always makes me smile when Michigan gets a little national spotlight, especially when it's someone I've enjoyed watching for years. I'll definitely be rooting for Michael Kosta to make a deep run and raise a bunch of money for charity.
