Dear Grand Blanc, Any Opportunities to Get Carrabba’s Here?

We have a lot of restaurants around Grand Blanc and Genesee County, but we're missing a larger Italian restaurant chain.

So, we're politely asking our elected officials for their assistance.

Dear Grand Blanc & Grand Blanc Township elected officials.

On behalf of Italian food lovers all over Genesee County, the Grand Blanc area would be a great place for a Carrabba's Italian Grill.

Is there anything the city or township could do to lure a location to the area? Is there a current property owner with the perfect space to lease for a restaurant?

Maybe there's available space around these areas?

• The former CiCi's Pizza near Kohl's? There's enough room to build out a bit further.

• What about Saginaw & Holly Roads across from the Grand Mall in the new Market Place?
• Maybe near the theater off Holly Road?

What's so special about Carrabba's?

The bread served with every meal is a great place to start. A crunchy crust with a soft, hot center perfectly sops up the olive oil & seasoning.

There's pasta, of course. Fettucine Weesie, Linguine Positano, Shrimp & Scallop Linguine Alla Vodka and many more.

Plus, steak, chicken and seafood dishes are served perfectly. Match those with a huge selection of wine or house sangria.

Then, there's dessert. A Cannoli Cake for Two... it's moist and delicious.

Some items are a little pricey, but that's not different from any other place.

Is Carrabba's nice inside?

It's a different vibe inside Carrabba's than other chains. Think full bar, dining room and the smell of wood-fire grilling.

They even host regular bourbon or wine dinners with four courses.

Which cities in Michigan have Carrabba's?

The lower third of Michigan's Lower Peninsula has several locations, but not exactly close to Genesee County.

• Troy
• Lansing
• Portage
• Novi
• Canton
• Southgate
• Sterling Heights

A location in Grand Blanc would be kept busy by folks in Genesee County and from northern Oakland, Livingston and Shiawassee and Lapeer Counties.

We could keep driving far away, but why not have our own?
