Another Deadly Motorcycle Crash Hits Genesee County

Less than two weeks ago, we reported on a deadly motorcycle crash in Genesee County. Unfortunately, it’s happened again.

Fatal Crash on North Dort Highway in Genesee County

This time, it happened Thursday afternoon on North Dort Highway near Churchill Avenue. Police say a motorcyclist riding a green Kawasaki was heading north when they hit a Volkswagen Passat going the same direction. After that initial impact, things got even worse. The rider was then struck by a pickup truck traveling southbound.
The crash happened just before 5 o’clock, and sadly, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene according to a report from ABC 12.

Right now, there are still a lot of unanswered questions. Investigators say they don’t yet know if speed, alcohol, or drugs played a role, and they’re asking anyone who may have seen something to come forward.

When you look at the bigger picture, there were over 3,000 motorcycle crashes across Michigan last year, with more than 150 lives lost. A lot of them happen on roads we drive every single day. And the reality is, motorcycles don’t give you much margin for error. Riders are exposed. Drivers have to be extra aware. And moments like these are a reminder of just how quickly things can go wrong.
