A litter of 10 pricey American Bully dogs was stolen from a home in Southeast Michigan last week and owner is hoping to get the puppies back.

Dogs Stolen in Broad Daylight

Darie Mann is the dogs' owner and breeder. He says the 8-week old puppies mean more to him than their large price tags.

"These dogs are more than just dogs to me," Mann tells Detroit's WJBK-TV. "They're not animals, they're my babies."

Mann says the entire litter was stolen from his friend's house in Dearborn on October 31 at about 2 pm. The suspect backed a black Dodge Ram truck into the friend's driveway and pulled a gun on the homeowner. He punched the friend before stealing the kennel with the 10 puppies inside.

Mann says his friend was injured so badly that he can barely eat right now. You'll see pictures of the man's injuries in the video below.

Stolen Puppies Worth a Fortune

Mann tells the TV station that the puppies boast a rare, coveted merle coat and they go for about $3,000 each. He goes on to say that the rest of his dogs have been feeling the impact since the puppies were stolen.

"It's sickening man, it's sad, but this is the type of things people do," Mann said. "We (were) on strike. I work at Ford Motor Company. So, the dogs, I was really depending on those funds to pay my bills, feed my family."

He is offering a $5,000 reward for the puppies' safe return.
