“The fact there’s people out there now who know my personal address, and I keep parts of my life very private,” Josh Cauldwell‑Clarke said in a video about what he learned after being treated at a hospital in Michigan.

Who Is Josh From England?

Cauldwell‑Clarke, known online as “Josh From England,” said he was notified that hospital workers accessed his medical records without a work‑related reason while he was receiving treatment during a visit to the state.

Now the popular influencer says lines were crossed while he was vulnerable — including employees accessing his private information and making unwanted contact.

Cauldwell‑Clarke is part of the British social media duo known as “Josh and Jase,” a pair who have built a large following on TikTok and other platforms by documenting their travels across the United States. They share videos of visits to cities, food spots and attractions, earning millions of views along the way.

Their travels brought them to Michigan in January, where they made several stops around the state while creating content for their followers. But during the visit, Josh was injured and required treatment at a Michigan hospital — a stay that later led to an unsettling discovery about how his information was handled, according to Detroit's WDIV-TV.

Michigan Hospital Stay and Alleged Privacy Breach

“I just want to make it very clear that I did not consent for anybody to go onto my medical records unless they were treating me,” Josh said in a comment on his social media video about the letter. “That’s private information. That’s my address, that’s my phone number, that’s everything about me. That’s not something people should be looking at because they’re curious who I am.”

In addition to the access of his records, Josh wrote that staff members entered his hospital room while he was being treated and asked for selfies — even though he was under medication and in pain. “I’ve kept quiet about this but to learn employees have accessed my personal private information for their own knowledge is not okay,” he wrote. “They also explained to me they had taken my name off of the notice board to keep things lowkey … lines and boundaries have been crossed and it comes to a time where I need to take a stance.”

Hospital Statement and Investigation

In a statement to Josh, hospital representatives said they recently learned that several employees accessed his electronic health record without a work‑related reason. The hospital has not publicly released its name.

The incident has raised questions about patient privacy and professionalism, even as hospitals in Michigan and across the country treat thousands of patients who trust that their personal information will remain confidential.
