Private Island Airbnb Near Tawas is Perfect Michigan Summer Retreat
Finding a cool cabin to rent isn't exactly news in Michigan, but finding a cool cabin to rent that comes on its own private island...well, that's a different story.
I love finding cool and unique Airbnbs to check out around the state and have stumbled upon a few that blow me away, but his one takes the cake.
Known as Zeron’s Island, this Airbnb experience is precisely what your next vacation should be. Situated in northern Michigan on the 800-acre all-sports Sage Lake just outside of Tawas, this private island retreat has it all and more.
On the island, you'll enjoy accommodations in the rustic cabin that has all the amenities of a luxury home with the feel of being completely off the grid. Inside is enough room for 12 guests with 3 bedrooms, 6 beds, and 2 bathrooms. There is also an amazing full-size kitchen for entertaining, but the real fun awaits outside.
The great outdoors is what it's all about on Zeron's Island. Guests will enjoy fishing, campfires, hiking, kayaking, and of course boating. The property offers two wood deck lookout points on both sides of the island to see all of the beautiful views and a mile-long hiking trail connecting them with the cabin. Guests also have the option of renting their choice of 4 different pontoon boats to use for transportation and days on the lake.

The rental comes with the use of kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and a canoe to enjoy. When you're ready to relax there are several patio areas and a built-in lakeside fire pit complete with a supply of firewood. You can also cook up a great dinner using the outdoor kitchen/BBQ area for grilling.
One of the coolest extras on the 8-acre island is the original cabin. Built on the island in the early 1900s, the cabin was partially saved and refurbished. Guests can use it as a great place to play cards or board games or as an extra sleeping area for those kicking back in those sleeping bags.
Rental for the island starts at around $900 per night, but with a big group going in together, it's the perfect vacation getaway!
