Fans hoping to get new Kid Cudi music in 2019 will have to wait a while longer. The Ohio rapper recently announced he won't be dropping new material until 2020.

On Friday (May 17), Cudder hopped on Twitter to give an update to fans. "Been mad busy yall!! So much exciting stuff just for u. Stay tuned duder," he posted.

He then noted he wouldn't get going on a solo tour for a while, but he will be making his rounds on the festival circuit. As for new music. "New music next year!!" the Kids See Ghosts rapper added. "Gonna work the rest of this year. In no rush to do anything right now. I dont drop albums every year anymore. Gotta give myself time to do other things. And relax!"

In closing he posted the cryptic tweet, "The next stage has begun..."

Cudder fans had hopes of getting new solo music this year. Last October, he announced 2019 would more than likely be the year he dropped his first project since 2016's Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin.'

"I just started the new album!" Cudi tweeted. "Taking my time w it tho but im thinkin next year sometime? Would that be cool? Huh? Tell me? Would that be ok?" He later teased, "Got some tasty features comin out soon in the meantime."

Cudi is coming off a big performance at the 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival where he brought out Kanye West to perform.
