Add Kroger to the list of grocery stores closing in Flint.

Yesterday the chain announced that they would be closing the Davison Rd. store at the end of March.  The store located at Franklin and Davison in Flint has been targeted for closure for a while, but it was finally made official this week.

According to store reps, the store hasn't turned a profit in more than 10 years, and that was the main reason for closing.

Kroger is looking to relocate those that work at the store, but jobs are not guaranteed.

This is the second major grocery store to close in Flint in the last month, and people living in these neighborhoods are upset.

Do you think there may be another factor playing into these closures other than declining population?  This Kroger store is definitely located in a area known for crime . . . could that have played into the decision?
