To say 2017 is Lil Uzi Vert's year would be an understatement. The genre-bending rapper has exceeded expectations since gracing the 2016 XXL Freshman cover, and continues to break the mold for the new wave of hip-hop artists. Let's review how he's done it.

While riding the high of being featured on Migos' "Bad and Boujee" during the year's first quarter, Uzi simultaneously dropped Luv Is Rage 1.5, which included his biggest single to date, “XO Tour Llif3.” The Philly native "died and came back wit 3 lives" when the track went three times platinum in July, and just when the rage began to die down, lo and behold came LUV Is Rage 2.

Lil Uzi Vert's debut album solidified him as a national sensation—if his previous releases hadn't won fans over already. Luv Is Rage 2 garnered him the No. 1. spot on the Billboard 200, and now everyone from Nicki Minaj to Marilyn Manson wants in on the Uzi action. Fellow XXL cover star Nicki posted videos of herself on social media vibing out to "The Way Life Goes" after the album's release, and she let it be known that she wants parts. Good thing for fans of both rappers, the remix is officially done.

Manson is already two steps ahead, apparently, because according to him, the two of them are already collaborating on a full album. "He wants to do a rock album next, and I would love to see that happen because I think that he could make a new thing," Manson shared in an interview earlier this year. "Not some rock/rap type of thing, something special and new that I think needs to be created just to fuck the world up more."

More recently, Chief Keef—a rapper Uzi called one of the "most influential" artists in hip-hop—tapped him to be featured on his next track, which has yet to be released. Long before the three major artists got a hold of him, however, over a dozen rappers were already hip to the wave and featured Uzi on their songs before his career skyrocketed.

Lil Uzi Vert helped catapult Playboi Carti's career with his second major single "Woke Up Like This" in March, and with the two frequently collaborating, it's no surprise a Carti-Uzi tape is in the works. Like Carti, he's been working with A$AP Mob heavily, appearing on both the AWGE DVD and the Mob's 2017 highlight "RAF" with Rocky, Quavo, Carti and Frank Ocean. Even Fabolous took his 2016 cut with Uzi, "Goyard Bag," and repurposed it this year as a single.

If that isn't enough, there are plenty more songs Uzi has jumped on this year, and XXL has found them all. Take a look at the tracks featuring the hip-hop star in 2017 below.
