Lil Wayne announced that 'Tha Carter V' album will be released in two parts, with the first half coming before the end of the year.

December 9th is the official date of the first half of the album, which should have 13, or more songs on it.  There is no set date for the second half of the album, and I honestly don't know how much I believe the first half will be out on December 9th.

'Tha Carter V' has turned into Dr. Dre's 'Detox' album (on a much smaller scale).  There have been multiple promised release dates, including a retirement and a return, all in the same time period.

Another big question is, will Wayne fans still care?  He has been without new music for a long time, with a lot of empty promises.  He did release a new track featuring 'The Lox' of all people.

I have my doubts that Wayne can return to the status that he once held in hip hop, and that's OK.  The music business isn't meant to be a monarchy, so if Wayne is never relevant again, there is nothing wrong with that.

Check out another new song that Wayne is featured on below.  Nicki, Wayne, Drake, and Chris Brown hooked up to set the record straight about their relationships on 'Only.'
