A pedestrian bridge collapsed in Detroit early this morning, killing one person and leaving many stuck in traffic including Lions QB, Matt Stafford.

The collapse happened shortly before 6am this morning, and had traffic closed in both directions.

The scene is still being cleaned up, and we send our thoughts to the family of the man killed.

UPDATE:
Reports say that the bridge collapsed after the bucket of a hydraulic garbage truck struck it. The driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to the hospital by EMS and later pronounced dead, according to Michigan State Polict Lt. Michael Shaw.

We hope you continue to keep the driver and his family in your prayers.
