Both the Spartan's and Wolverines easily advanced through the first round of the NCAA tournament, plus Nik Stauskas and Adreian Payne gave fans even more to cheer about.

Payne helped lead Michigan State passed Delaware as he set an NCAA tournament record by making all 17 of his free throws and broke Sparty's tournament scoring record, set previously by Greg Kelser in 1979.

Nick Stauskas didn't have as impressive of a scoring night as Payne, but he did reach a Michigan milestone.

Michigan and State now move on to the round of 32, and both teams have tough games on Saturday.  Michigan will tip off against Texas Saturday at 5:15pm on CBS.  Michigan State will face a tough Harvard team at 8:40pm on TNT.
