Michigan Powerball Million Dollar Ticket Expires This Week
Someone in Michigan is sitting on a million dollar Powerball ticket, but it's going to expire this week.
The winning ticket was purchased for the drawing that took place on October 3rd, 2018. It was bought at a Speedway located at 10070 Highland Rd in Hartland. The ticket matched all five white numbers, which means it's worth $1 Million! The problem is that if it's not claimed by Thursday, it will expire.
Odds are good the winner threw it away without realizing that it was a winner, but they could just be waiting until the last possible minute. So what happens to the money if the person never claims the million dollars?
According to the Michigan Lottery website, the money will go directly to the state school aid fund. I guess that means that the missing millionaire isn't a complete loss. I just can't get over the fact that someone could have had their lives changed forever, and they might never know. Imagine being that person . . . would you even want to find out it was you after the expiration date came and went?
This happens more than you might think though. According to the Michigan Lottery, this would be the third time this year that a $1 Million prize has gone unclaimed!
If you happen to find the winning ticket, you have until Thursday to claim it. The best thing to do is to call the Michigan Lottery offices at (517) 373-1237.
