Michigan lawmakers are realizing that closing a bunch of marijuana dispensaries without any notice was probably a bad idea.

DUH!

Despite all of the concerns voiced by patients and caregivers alike, officials went through with the closures. Now, the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs has recommended that the unlicensed dispensaries be allowed to operate.

The shortage of product for medical marijuana patients is the driving force behind the recommendation. To help ease the shortage, LARA will also allow licensed facilities to source product from caregivers without it resulting in disciplinary action.

This is one of those rare moments where government officials not only admitted they made a mistake, they actually took steps to correct it.

According to ABC12, the recommendation is that the dispensaries should be allowed to stay open until March 31st.

That means we will be going through this mess again just in time for April Fools Day. Then marijuana advocates in Michigan can go back to being like . . .
