Michigan State and Maryland were supposed to play this Saturday, but the game has been cancelled due to Covid-19 protocol.

This is the second straight week that Maryland has had to cancel their game, last week they were supposed to play Ohio State. I can understand cancelling against Ohio State, most teams would like to do that. Cancelling against Sparty this year is a bad bet, because you're more than likely going to pick up a win! (that's obviously a joke).

I am 100% positive that neither team wanted to cancel the game this weekend, but everyone is trying to be as cautios as possible.

Maryland has been in the middle of a Covid outbreak since the beginning of the season it feels like. The biggest new development is that the Terps head coach, Mike Locksley has now tested positive. That means that he won't be available to be with the team for at least two weeks. Maryland had hoped to be back on the practice field this week, but ESPN is reporting that it will be next Wednesday at the earliest.

The crazy part about the cancellation is that it is truly cancelled. The games that are forced to be cancelled in the BIG 10 due to Covid will not be made up. So far there have been four games cancelled.

If Maryland is able to get the virus under control, their next scheduled game is November 28th against Indiana. Michigan State will take the field against Northwestern on November 28th.
