Fans Think a Nicki Minaj and 6ix9ine Collab Is Coming Soon
Two New York stars may be uniting on Sunday (July 22). Based on snippets circulating online, some fans believe 6ix9ine is set to drop a new single featuring Nicki Minaj.
The rumor flared on Wednesday (July 18) after Tekashi shared on Instagram audio of an unreleased track, previously leaked in snippet form under the title "Fefe," with the caption, "Subscribe before Sunday." The lo-fi clip features a verse that some listeners believe is Nicki.
In a separate post on the same day, the "Gotti" rapper wrote, "I’m giving you guys one last music video this Sunday before I go to jail forever," an apparent joking reference to his ongoing legal troubles, including his scheduled arraignment in Texas on Friday (July 20) for a misdemeanor assault charge.
It's unclear whether the song in question actually features Minaj. She has not commented on the rumor. However, during his European tour in June, 6ix9ine shared that he planned to drop a music video for "Fefe" when he returned to the States, and that the song featured a surprise guest. "I got a really cool feature on it," the rapper said. "It's a surprise."
For what it's worth, TMZ reported today (July 19) that Tekashi rush-ordered his new My Little Pony chain in order to wear during a scheduled video shoot with Nicki, according to the Miami jewelers who designed the piece.
Barbie's next album Queen drops on Aug. 10. You can check out 6ix9ine's "Fefe" snippet and Instagram post below.
