Rich The Kid Gives Disabled Fan Backstage Pass After Teen Was Stopped by Police for Trying to Hop Fence
Rich The Kid loves his fans. Case in point: The Atlanta-based rapper gifted one of his fans a backstage pass to the 2019 Lollapalooza festival in Chicago last weekend.
The lucky fan is Mekailo Woodfork, an 18-year-old who had his leg amputated at birth. Woodfork garnered social media fame after a viral video surfaced last Friday (Aug. 2) of him being stopped by a police officer after several dozen people successfully hopped the fence to get inside the festival grounds. According to a TMZ story, which was published on Monday (Aug. 5), Rich’s manager heard about the Woodfork’s unfortunate situation and wanted to help out.
So Rich’s manager connected with the teen via his Instagram account and gave him a four-day artist pass to the Lollapalooza. On Sunday, Woodfork hopped on his Twitter account to share a photo of himself and the “Plug Walk” rapper. “Met @richthekid, best day ever,” he tweeted.
Woodfork told TMZ that he was also offered tickets by the Lollapalooza founder Perry Ferrell but Rich was the real plug and gave him all-access to the Chicago festival.
Last Friday (Aug. 3), Rich The Kid’s crew project, Rich Forever 4, finally hit digital stores. The compilation boasts Rich and his Rich Forever Music artists like Yung Bino, 83 Babies Jay Critch and R&B singer Airi.
