The Detroit Zoological Society’s 25th annual Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo is set to take place Sunday, September 12th. Proceeds from this annual fundraising event benefit the Ruth Roby Glancy Animal Health Complex and the veterinary care for the animals at the Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Nature Center.

This years event, sponsored by Ford Motor Company, will feature a 5k run and a noncompetitive 1.5-mile fun walk. Those running will make there way through the scenic streets of Huntington Woods and the area around the Zoo. Walkers will follow a cool course past the amazing animal habitats in the Detroit Zoo itself.

There will also be a post-run party with music, family entertainment and complimentary food and beverages all thanks to Kroger. Participants will receive medals for the top three female and male finishers in each age category for the 5k. Every Run Wild participant will receive T-shirts, finisher medals and free admission to the Detroit Zoo on race day.
