The very same water that flows in the majestic Flint River is about to flow into your home as tap water.

Right now the city of Flint gets its water from Lake Huron, which isn't much cleaner and way more costly.  Using the Flint River as the city's water supply would save Flint Millions of dollars.

The Flint River solution isn't meant to be a permanent one, it's just a layover until a pipeline can be put in place to get the water from Lake Huron here in a more direct route.

The obvious question about this plan deals with safety.  Here are a few of the questions that immediately come to mind about drinking the Flint River.

  • Don't they regularly find bodies in the river?
  • Have they removed all of the vehicles that call the Flint River home?
  • If any valuables come into my home via the tap water, can I keep them?

I don't have all the answers to these questions, but I think the third one is yes.
