The Genesee County Recycling Day Is This Weekend
The Genesee County Spring Recycling Day is happening this Saturday, and we have the list of items that are accepted.
This is the first of two recycling days in Genesee County. The first is this Saturday (May 12th) from 10am to 2pm. There are two drop off locations for residents, Grand Blanc High School and the Flint Water Service Center on Court Street.
There is also a fall recycle day scheduled on September 15th at Carmain-Ainsworth Middle School and the East Court Street Flint Water Service Center.
Last year the recycling days collected more than 600,000 pounds of trash. This year there is an ever greater demand, so Genesee County officials have added collection events. The additional events will be held at Mott Community College on June 12th, July 18th, August 14th, and October 9th.
There are some important differences between the spring/fall events and the collection events at MCC. The most notable is that you can not bring tires or appliances to the MCC events, but you can bring them this Saturday. Check out the flyer below, and click on the image for more information.
