50 years ago today Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. told thousands of people who took place in the March On Washington about his dream, and those words have rang true ever since.

Trying to summarize the significance of this moment in history is impossible for a few reasons.  The main reason is that it's effects are still being felt 50 years later, and will be for generations to come.

There are so many messages that Dr. King has taught all of us, but the most important one, in my opinion, and the message I try to pass to my kids is simple.  It's based more from the way Dr. King led his life than the speech, but still embodied in the speech.

Being kind and respectful to others who are not willing to do the same to you, shows more courage and strength than winning any fight.
