Could you imagine being trapped in an elevator for 41 hours? No food, no water, no communication with others. This is one crazy story.

I've always been terrified of elevators. Maybe it's because of Hollywood and the fact that there's so many movies where people get stuck in elevators, or maybe its because your trapped in a moving box that is smaller than a prison cell.

Saying this man just had bad luck would be an understatement. In 2006 Nicolas White entered the Rockefeller Center's McGraw-Hill Building elevator and had no idea he would be stuck inside for almost 2 days. During his time in the elevator White had no cell phone and smoked cigarettes, looked at the contents in his wallet, and looked at money to pass time. He had to use the elevator shaft to urinate.

White was eventually freed by the janitorial staff on Monday morning. He filed a $25 million lawsuit against the building's management and the elevator maintenance company. He received a $300,000 settlement.
