ORIGINAL STORY:
Sad news again strikes the hip-hop community. Maryland rapper Tre' Da Kid was killed following a shooting and car crash in Annapolis, Md. on Friday night (June 7).

Police officers responded to a shooting around 9:20 p.m. in the area of Forest Drive and Cherry Grove Avenue. When they arrived they discovered the rapper, born Edward Montre Seay, shot inside of a vehicle that was involved in a one-car collision. He was pronounced dead on the scene, reports NBC 4 Washington. Tre' was 32 years old.

According to a Washington Post report, Seay died from injuries due to the crash. Police blocked off roads in the area for hours while they searched for a suspect in the shooting. An investigation is ongoing.

Tre' gained national attention in 2016 when he won 300 Entertainment and Verizon's #freestyle50 challenge. The following year, he released the popular single "Run It" featuring TK Kravitz and production from London On Da Track. He had been making a name for himself in the DMV area for a few years before the contest exposure with projects like Royalty Album and his Prince of the City mixtapes series. In March, he put out the Tdk: Titles Define Kings project of 13 solo tracks.

The Maryland MC joins a list of rappers to be involved in gun violence in 2019. Unfortunately, his incident turned out fatal.

R.I.P. Tre' Da Kid.
