Troy Davis was executed in Jackson Georgia shortly after 11pm on September 21st.

Davis was convicted of murdering a security guard in 1998, and received the death penalty.  Since his conviction massive amounts of evidence has come forward to show that he may not be guilty.

Despite a petition signed by 1,000,000 people and numerous supporters, the Supreme Court denied a stay of execution.

Since the presentation of new evidence Troy Davis had garnered the support of Popes, Presidents and even former FBI Director William Sessions.  The world of Hip Hop had also taken a seat in Davis' corner, and sounded off about his execution.

Troy Davis maintained his innocence, even to his last words.

"I'd like to address the MacPhail family. Let you know, despite the situation you are in, I'm not the one who personally killed your son, your father, your brother. I am innocent.

The incident that happened that night is not my fault. I did not have a gun. All I can ask ... is that you look deeper into this case so that you really can finally see the truth.

I ask my family and friends to continue to fight this fight.

For those about to take my life, God have mercy on your souls. And may God bless your souls."
