Tupac Shakur’s Estate Launches Tupac Poetry Clothing Collection
Arguably hip-hop's more lyrical rappers, Tupac Shakur has been lauded for his poetic prose. Now, the late rapper's actual poetry is being honored in a new clothing line called the Tupac Poetry Collection.
The exclusive limited-edition capsule is a partnership between The Estate of Tupac Shakur and Bravado in recognition of National Poetry Month. The collection features various pieces of clothing such as long-sleeve shirts, bomber jackets and more that include poems from the late rapper printed on them.
"A trailblazer ahead of his time, Tupac expanded hip hop's already revolutionary vernacular through the infusion of poetic lyrical sensibility that was uniquely his," a statement about the new collection reads.
The Tupac Poetry Collection will be available exclusively at VFiles. Prices for the pieces range from $30 to $200, and pieces feature some of Pac's famous writings such as "In the Depths of Solitude: Dedicated 2 Me" and "If I Fail."
In related Tupac news, a letter from 1995 written by the rapper to then girlfriend Madonna can now be officially auctioned off after the singer lost a lawsuit attempting to reclaim it. The letter was penned by Pac while he was in jail and features him detailing why the two can no longer be in a romantic relationship due to their race.
In his letter to the pop singer, Tupac wrote, "Can u understand that? For you to be seen with a Black man wouldn't in any way jeopardize your career. If anything it would make you seem that much more open & exciting. But for me at least in my previous perception I felt due to my 'image' I would be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was. I never meant to hurt you."
