On Saturday (March 24), thousands of young protesters and activists converged on Washington, D.C., to demand gun control at the March for Our Live rally. The event featured student activists from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., where a shooting occurred on Feb. 14 that left 17 people dead and over 17 people injured.
According to USA Today, over 800 rallies took place around the world in solidarity with the 'March for Our Lives' rally in Washington, D.C.
At the D.C. rally, Jennifer Hudson — who lost her mother, her brother and her nephew to gun violence — delivered a heartfelt performance of "The Times They Are A'Changin' following Emma Gonzalez's stirring speech. Rapper Vic Mensa also performed.
Numerous celebrities -- including Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, DJ Khaled, Barack Obama and others -- have lent their support for the D.C. rally, with many of them joining other rallies across the country.
