YG’s House Raided by Police Due to His Alleged Connection to Deadly Shooting: Report
Two weeks after his SUV was determined to be the vehicle at the center of a deadly Compton shootout, YG's house has reportedly been raided.
On Thursday (July 18), Los Angeles news outlet KTLA reported that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department came to the rapper's house because an SUV registered in his name was involved in a chase and shootout with police on July 3. Authorities had attempted to pull the vehicle over for a suspected DUI when occupants sped off. An occupant from inside the vehicle began shooting during the chase, which left one deputy wounded by a bullet and one pedestrian dead.
YG was not present during today's raid, which happened around 10 a.m. on Thursday morning. The vehicle involved was not at his home either, as it had been abandoned in Inglewood on the night of the chase and the occupants fled on foot. The L.A. news outlet reports that several people were detained during the raid. According to TMZ, one man on the scene was arrested for a weapons charge.
For his part, YG has denied any involvement in the shootout. Following news of the incident earlier this month, the rapper used his Twitter account to speak on the case.
"I was nowhere near the scene of this incident, I was in Hollywood recording in the studio all day," YG wrote. "I was there until after midnight on the 4th of July and didn’t learn of these events until after they happened!"
