Summertime is officially here in Flint when orange barrels outnumber drivers on the road.  Mid-Michigan has four new major projects that will be slowing you down starting this week.

This is the constant struggle in Michigan every single summer.  Complain about how bad the roads are after wintertime, then complain about all of the construction going on to fix the bad roads.

Here is a breakdown of the new projects that will be slowing you down for the rest of the summer.

  • SB I-475 CLOSED from Atherton Rd to Bristol Rd.  Drivers will exit at Atherton, and take Grand Traverse to get back on at Bristol Rd.
  • Belsay Rd will be down to 1 lane, with the I69 entrance ramps closed as well.
  • SB I-75 Between Birch Run and I-475 will have multiple lane closures.  Two lanes during the day, and three will be closed at night.
  • I-69 in Lapeer County will have lane closures between Wilder and Lake Pleasant Rd.  There will be multiple bridge closures along that stretch of road.

Nobody loves road construction, but the work is much needed.  Please remember to drive slowly in construction areas, and always pay attention when workers are present.
