A Pontiac man was stopped by police this weekend after someone called reporting his suspicious behavior of walking outside with his hands in his pockets.

Read that again . . .

I think it would be more suspicious if the guy had been walking around with his hands outside of his pockets.

Think about it!  It's late November in Michigan, and a guy walks buy with his hands in his pockets.  Instead of worrying about what may be in his pockets, maybe the people calling the police should be asking him if he needed some gloves, or a ride somewhere.

When suspicion and fear take over the instinct to help someone, we know there is a problem.  I'm not even suggesting that the man needed help, but seeing someone walking in the cold should never make them a suspect.

Luckily, the man and the police officer both realized that this was a big waste of time fairly quickly.  They were able to have a candid conversation, and even shared a quick, awkward hi five.

While this probably doesn't help the negative image that police are being painted in right now, we all need to realize that the majority of police are doing their job correctly.  Most officers would rather help people than arrest anyone.  Take a second to read about one of the cops doing it right below.
