Sure, we’re all a little tepid at the prospect of a new season of ‘Saturday Night Live‘ that lacks Andy Samberg, Kristen Wiig, Abby Elliott, and potentially even Jason Sudeikis as well, but the show will always go on, no?  Seth MacFarlane has been announced to host the premiere of the long-running sketch comedy’s thirty-eighth season, but who will join him on the stage?  And what other stars will fall from the sky to deliver a premium rush in the ensuing weeks?

According to Entertainment Weekly, animation mogul and ‘Ted‘ writer / director / star Seth MacFarlane will take up ‘Saturday Night Live’ hosting duties for the show’s thirty-eighth season premiere on September 15th.  Joined by musical guest Frank Ocean, MacFarlane will take the stage to promote not only the return of his FOX animation series ‘Family Guy,’ ‘American Dad’ and ‘The Cleveland Show,’ but the DVD launch of ‘Ted’ as well.

Following MacFarlane, ‘Premium Rush‘ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ star Joseph Gordon-Levitt will take up hosting duties for the second time on September 22, accompanied by the ‘SNL’ debut of Mumford & Sons.  Taking up duties for the third week of the show’s 38th season will be that of James Bond himself, ‘Skyfall‘ star Daniel Craig joined by alternative rockers Muse.

Granted, all of the departures might seem a little scary, but what say you?  Do you think the first three weeks of ‘Saturday Night Live’ will be enough to ease us back into the show, or is it time to abandon ship?  Tell us who you’re most looking forward to seeing in the comments!
