SNL funny man might be in trouble. A lawsuit was filed against Saturday Night Live‘s Andy Samberg and The Lonely Island for copyright infringement. Musicians Aleric ”Rick tha Ruler” Banks and Monique Hines claim they created and copyrighted the music that formed the basis for the “Shy Ronnie” and “Like A Boss” SNL digital shorts. Banks and Hines claim they sent master recordings to Samberg, Akiva Shaffer and Jorma Taccone, who then recorded their own lyrics over the music. The music for “Like a Boss” appeared on SNL in 2009. “Shy Ronnie” also aired that year and was nominated for an Emmy.
