The Buena Vista Schools have been closed for more than a week now after running out of money to operate. It's been a frustrating time for everyone involved, but last night brought some hope to the teachers, students and parents in the district.
The Buena Vista School District hasn't held any classes since Tuesday, after the staff was let go Monday night due to lack of funds. There is now a ray of hope as the district is looking to the State of Michigan to step in.
Last week news broke that Buena Vista Township Clerk was recorded using a racial slur to describe the Township's Supervisor. Things got worse when the clerk tried to justify her use of the N-word. The community wasn't too happy about it or anyone on the Township board.
