Project Flint has been taking some heat from locals, who claim the organization is piggybacking on the exposure of the water crisis and using funds donated in the name of the city for personal gain.
The bottled water that is intended to help Flint residents deal with the Flint Water Crisis may be going to the wrong people according to the Michigan State Police.
Michigan State Police Captain Chris Kelenske stated during a meeting with the Flint Water Interagency Coordinating Committee that non-residents of Flint are taking bottled water from the nine distribution sites in the city.
Tempers flared as Flint City Councilman Eric Mays rode Robert’s rules of order for just under an hour before a vote was taken on a special order he proposed at last night’s Council meeting to offer an alternative to the long-term Flint water proposal presented by the Mayor and pushed by the state.
The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality gave Flint officials till the 26th to approve a new long term plan for drinking water, but that did not happen last night.
